Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned SOC L2 Specialist to join our team.

This role involves providing technical and functional support to the L1 Team, investigating incidents, collecting evidence, diagnosing and recovering within defined SLAs, and closing incidents.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in Information Security and 3+ years' experience in managing the SOC.

  • Knowledge of industry-recognized analysis frameworks (Kill Chain, Diamond Model, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Incident Response, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing Fundamentals, EDR, DLP, Firewall.
  • Thorough understanding of fundamental security and network concepts (operating systems, intrusion/detection, TCP/IP, ports, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide analytical feedback to the L1 Team.
  2. Investigate incidents, collect evidence, diagnose, recover within defined SLA, and close incidents.
  3. Understand information security policies and best practices in Birlasoft environments.
  4. Inform management on proactive and reactive actions to ensure adherence to security policy.
  5. Review and understand collected metrics from monitoring systems and be aware of patterns and anomalies.
  6. Perform incident response, eliminating threats to the network, determining causes, and preserving evidence for analysis.
  7. Ensure incidents are handled consistently with established playbooks.
  8. Monitor SIEM and logging for alerts of potential network threats, intrusions, and/or compromises.
  9. Understand the global threat environment and general security best practices.
  10. Assist with triage of service requests from automated sensors and internal requests for assistance.
  11. Participate in active cyber hunting to identify and eliminate known and unknown network threats.
  12. Interface with technical personnel to rapidly resolve critical issues.
  13. Inform leadership of incidents and propose effective response and/or countermeasures for containment.
