Job Title: Lead Well Planning Specialist

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Well Planning Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to lead the design, planning, and execution support of CBM wells.

 

  • Develop detailed well designs (casing, cementing, well trajectory, mud program) aligned with reservoir and geo-mechanical models.
  • Prepare basis of design (BoD), risk registers, and contingency plans.
  • Design fit-for-purpose and cost-optimized completions for CBM production.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading well planning activities for CBM wells, including location selection support.
  • Generating drilling and completion AFEs and monitoring actual vs budget.
  • Assisting in developing Scope of Work and technical specifications for Drilling & Well Completion equipment.
  • Providing real-time technical support to the execution team during drilling, casing, cementing, and completions.

 

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Over 10 years of upstream oil & gas experience, with 3+ years specifically in CBM operations.
  • Proven experience in well design and engineering for low-pressure, unconventional gas wells.
  • Strong knowledge of CBM reservoir behavior and gas production mechanisms.
