Backend Developer Role

This position involves working on designing, building, and deploying backend solutions using Ruby or Java on the Rails Framework.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure requirements are met and executed upon.
  • Adhere to industry standards when designing, building, and deploying solutions.
  • Promote best practices, high-quality code, and proper test coverage.
  • Actively participate in code reviews and design discussions.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Brings 2-4 years of relevant experience in object-oriented languages like Ruby or Java.
  • Has experience with databases such as MySQL and/or Dynamo DB.
  • Is familiar with CI/CD and delivery systems (e.g., Github Actions, Travis, Jenkins).
  • Understands API design and distributed systems.
  • Has experience using Datadog or other log aggregation tools.
  • Displays a customer-first mentality when dealing with service incident management, data analysis, and root-cause analysis.
  • Demonstrates a hunger for learning new technologies and eagerness to grow knowledge and capabilities.
  • Cultivates a team-first collaborative attitude thriving in agile development environments.
  • Excels in written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus Skills:
  • Experience with JavaScript, React.
  • Experience with JavaScript build infrastructure/tooling (Webpack, Node.js).
  • Experience working on SaaS-based products.
  • Experience with AWS stack (e.g., Aurora RDS).
