This role involves researching and validating refund requests related to real estate taxes, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with internal teams, clients, and external tax authorities.
- Analyze tax payment records, escrow accounts, and disbursement histories to identify overpayments, duplicate payments, or incorrect tax submissions.
- Research tax authority documentation, payment confirmations, and client records to validate refund eligibility.
- C coordinate with county/state tax authorities to initiate and track refund requests.
- Prepare refund documentation, reconcile amounts, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of refund cases in tracking systems and ensure timely updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams (disbursement, taxline setup, escrow, finance) to resolve discrepancies and provide supporting documentation.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding refund status, timelines, and escalations.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 1–2 years of experience in real estate tax servicing, mortgage operations, escrow, or financial services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases, and tax servicing platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
