Electrical Design Engineer Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to design and implement electrical systems for our solar project sites. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical designs align with approved drawings, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Electrical Systems: Review and understand electrical drawings issued by Head Office (SLDs, cable schedules, earthing layouts, lighting, SCADA layouts, AC/DC Trenches etc). Prepare or update site-specific electrical designs/drawings (e.g., cable routing, earthing design, junction box placement, LT/HT panel room layouts).
  • Perform Electrical Calculations: Perform basic electrical design calculations (cable sizing, voltage drop, earthing resistance, load balancing).
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure site execution complies with approved drawings, standards, and codes (CEA, IEC, IS). Provide design clarifications/modifications to site team and get necessary approvals from Head Office.

Qualification & Experience/Skills Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Electrical Design Tools: Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar electrical design tools.
  • Strong Understanding of Electrical Systems: Strong understanding of electrical systems in solar projects: PV array to inverter interconnection, LT/HT cabling, transformers, switchgear, earthing & lightning protection systems, SCADA and metering.
  • Codes and Regulations: Knowledge of CEA, IEC, and IS codes applicable to solar plants.
  • Education: B.E./B.tech in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in electrical design and site execution (solar/renewable/industrial projects preferred).
