Job Opportunity: Industrial Electrical System Specialist

Job Description

This is a challenging role that requires expertise in electrical systems studies. As an Industrial Electrical System Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for industrial facilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Electrical Codes and Standards: You must have working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (i.e., NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA, etc.) to ensure compliance and safety.
  2. Electrical Software Proficiency: Experience with SKM Systems Analysis or Electrical Power Systems Analysis (ETAP) system modeling software is essential for effective system design and analysis.
  3. Studies and Analysis: Perform load flow, short circuit studies, and arc flash studies to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  4. Device Coordination: Conduct coordination studies of protective devices and recommend settings for optimal performance.
  5. Native Relay Settings: Develop native relay setting files using vendor software, preferably.
  6. Equipment Protection: Recommend new protection settings for MV and LV equipment such as relays, breakers, and fuses.
  7. TCC Graphs: Understand major equipment damage curves and protective device curves on Time-Current Curve (TCC) graphs to ensure proper protection.
  8. Motor Starting Studies: Perform steady-state and transient motor starting studies, preferably.
  9. Engineering Calculations: Conduct engineering calculations such as voltage drop, CT saturation, cable sizing, battery, and battery charger sizing.
  10. Electrical Drawings: Interpret electrical drawings (i.e., one line diagrams, three line diagrams, and schematics) and protection schemes within industrial facilities.
