We are seeking an exceptional Senior Team Lead – Controls to lead our dynamic team of engineers in designing and implementing advanced control systems for large-scale Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) and Parcel Handling Solutions.

About the Role

  • Lead and mentor a team of 15+ Controls Engineers, ensuring skill and competency development through regular feedback, coaching, and training programs.
  • Manage team escalations, daily resource allocation, hiring, and subcontracting activities to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Identify training needs and implement structured training programs to upskill the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales Engineering, Project Management, Service, and R&D as a consultant to drive business growth.
  • Monitor project risks and opportunities, driving improvements across teams through data-driven decision making.
  • Ensure system performance validation through thorough FAT/SAT testing to guarantee high-quality deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime and disruptions, providing timely solutions to meet customer expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to department KPIs by analyzing metrics and implementing process enhancements.
  • Provide technical oversight during commissioning and ensure smooth customer handovers, ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing 15+ engineers, demonstrating ability to motivate and empower team members.

Technical Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC (mandatory) and Allen Bradley PLC (preferred), with hands-on experience in designing and executing integrated control systems.
  • Ability to align control designs with mechanical, electrical, and software project goals, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operation.
  • Skilled in preparing and executing detailed project plans and schedules, managing timelines and resources effectively.
  • Experience in driving standardization and process improvement across multiple projects, leveraging best practices and industry standards.
  • Practical involvement in commissioning and customer delivery phases, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or related field).
  • 10–12 years of experience in PLC programming (Siemens required; Allen Bradley a plus), with prior experience in Airport Baggage Handling Systems or Parcel Handling Solutions strongly preferred.
