Job Purpose:

The primary role of this faculty position is to make significant contributions to the academic objectives of NMIMS by engaging in teaching, research, and service activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive educational plan aligned with the institution's specifications. Key responsibilities include conducting classes, offering academic guidance and counseling to students, actively participating in departmental committees, and enhancing the curriculum through assessment, applied research, scholarly activities, and other relevant contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, seminars, and research work with dedication and professionalism.
  • Acknowledge and respect the University Act, Statute, Ordinance, Rules & Regulations, and adhere to its ideals, vision, mission, cultural practices, and traditions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to carry out educational responsibilities, including assisting in appraising applications for admission, advising and counseling students, and supporting the conduct of university and college examinations and evaluations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of sessional materials, pre-reads, reading material, video links, reference articles, case studies, curated content, numerical data (if applicable), blogs, and reference news feeds.
  • Participate in administrative, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities assigned by the Dean/Director/Pro-Vice Chancellor/Vice Chancellor as part of their duty.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' academic standing and provide timely final grades, attendance, and other information required by administration.
  • Create educational content, including notes, summaries, assignments, term papers, and question banks.
  • Evaluate assignments and supervise postgraduate projects submitted by students.
  • Pursue continuous professional growth through study and research.
  • Maintain active membership in professional organizations and strive to improve education and the profession through them.
  • Meet workload expectations as per stipulated University norms.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of academic programs and courses.
  • Stay updated with advancements in teaching methodologies and incorporate relevant content into courses.

Estimated Salary: ₹8,00,000 - ₹12,00,000 per annum

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate passion for teaching and ability to build relationships with students.
  • Show evidence of effective pedagogical approaches and teaching experience.
  • Exhibit calm, patient, communicative temperament, and amiable disposition.
  • Demonstrate responsible conduct and demeanor.
  • Display professional attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) or be pursuing Ph.D., along with a Master's Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Have 5-10 years of proven work experience in teaching, research, or significant professional experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with visiting teaching/training exposure.
  • Teaching experience in distance education will be considered an advantage.
