As a senior leader in steel manufacturing, you will drive operational excellence and quality management in our facility. This role ensures maximum productivity, consistent product quality, cost efficiency, and adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy engineering, operations, or quality management, with at least 8 years of experience in a senior leadership role. A postgraduate degree in operations or quality is highly desirable.

This role requires strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and problem-solving skills. You will lead cross-functional improvement teams, introduce automation and digital tools, and implement lean and Six Sigma practices. Additionally, you will ensure strict adherence to EHS regulations and quality standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and developing a high-performing team, providing training in lean and quality tools, and motivating teams to adopt best practices.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Drive operational efficiency programs across production lines (DRI, LRF & Rolling Mills)
    • Implement lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and other manufacturing best practices
    • Benchmark operational KPIs and drive performance improvement initiatives
    • Introduce automation, digital tools, and Industry 4.0 practices
      • Quality Management:
        • Develop and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001
        • Ensure metallurgical quality control from raw material to finished goods
        • Lead product inspection, testing, and certification processes
        • Drive corrective and preventive actions
          • Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
            • Foster a culture of Kaizen, problem-solving, and employee-driven improvement initiatives
            • Lead cross-functional improvement teams
            • Evaluate and deploy new steelmaking technologies
              • Compliance & Safety:
                • Ensure strict adherence to EHS regulations, quality standards, and statutory norms
                • Work closely with QA/QC, production, and maintenance teams
                  • Leadership & People Development:
                  • Build and develop a high-performing team
                  • Provide training in lean and quality tools
                  • Motivate teams to adopt best practices

Requirements:

  • Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Metallurgy Engineering; Postgraduate degree in Operations / Quality preferred
  • Experience: 18+ years in steel manufacturing with strong exposure to operational excellence and quality management
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO Lead Auditor, or TPM Facilitator preferred
  • Industry Knowledge: Steelmaking processes (DRI, LRF & Rolling Mills), quality standards, metallurgical testing, process optimization
