Technical Documentation Specialist

About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our documentation team, you will play a crucial role in developing instructional documentation and managing projects across our systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs in developing and maintaining documentation that meets established quality metrics. In addition, you will maintain a library of documentation and catalog it for internal and/or external use.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality technical documentation for software development processes and related technologies.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple documentation projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information and create engaging content.
  • Break down complex information into accessible concepts suitable for various audiences.
  • Represent information in visual/graphical forms to enhance textual descriptions.
  • Demonstrate fluency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word.
  • Maintain attention to detail and execute tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Showcase ability to multi-task and work independently as a self-starter.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and usage.
  • Engage in effective interviewing and questioning techniques to gather pertinent content.
  • Negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts among project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or a related field.

Key Skills:

  • Experience documenting instructions for software/development/related processes.
  • Project management skills, including organizing multiple documentation projects and tracking progress.
  • Familiarity with graphics/illustration software.
