Key Responsibilities

The goal of this role is to identify emerging technologies, new business models, competitor moves, and untapped market whitespaces in the IoT ecosystem.

  • Conduct continuous scanning of the IoT landscape to stay ahead of competitors and anticipate market trends.
  • Develop insightful reports on long-term trends, disruptions, and potential threats to the current business strategy.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for designing and executing rigorous validation processes for new opportunity hypotheses, utilizing primary customer research, expert interviews, competitive analysis, and prototype testing.

  • Develop robust financial models and business cases to assess the market size, potential ROI, and strategic value of new opportunities.

For opportunities that pass validation, lead the initial incubation phase. This includes defining initial product-market fit, building minimal viable products (MVPs) or prototypes, and running pilot programs with early customers.

  • Coordinate cross-functional resources (e.g., engineering, design, product, finance) to accelerate the incubation process.

Besides, build and leverage a network of external contacts (startups, academics, industry experts, venture capitalists) to serve as a radar for emerging innovation and potential partnership opportunities.

  • Clearly and persuasively communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to senior leadership to inform strategic investment decisions.
