Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in cloud-native data engineering, particularly on Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with AWS and GCP. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of building scalable data pipelines, implementing enterprise-grade data governance, security, and AI-powered engineering automation.

This role plays a pivotal part in designing, developing, and optimizing data ingestion, transformation, and governance frameworks, enabling real-time and batch data analytics across our data platform.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, PySpark, Python, and data orchestration tools. Familiarity with data architecture patterns such as Lakehouse, Medallion, and Delta Architecture is also required.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience with data versioning and GitOps for data, working knowledge of data observability, lineage, cataloguing, and data quality. Exposure to privacy-enhancing techniques, access control, security auditing, and machine learning use cases in data engineering pipelines is also beneficial.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable, robust, and secure data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Event Hub, and Azure Functions. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data, implementing Change Data Capture (CDC), streaming pipelines, and batch ingestion.

The selected candidate will work collaboratively with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs. Mentorship of junior data engineers and contribution to technical best practices are also essential responsibilities.

Candidates must possess a strong understanding of data architecture patterns, proficiency in SQL, PySpark, Python, and data orchestration tools, and experience with data versioning and GitOps for data. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4-8 years of experience in data engineering is required.
