Physics Researcher Role Overview

We are seeking researchers with a strong physics background to contribute to the development and evaluation of large language models (LLMs) that can solve complex physics problems.

The primary objectives of this research initiative include:

  • Enhancing LLMs' ability to understand and tackle multi-step conceptual or quantitative questions in areas like mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum theory.
  • Identifying model weaknesses and improving training and evaluation workflows.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Academic Background: PhD/Postdoc in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to solve advanced physics problems using structured reasoning.
  • Communication Skills: Clear explanation of complex topics and providing precise feedback.
  • Research Independence: Ability to work independently in a remote research environment and participate actively in team discussions.
  • Technical Setup: Reliable computer and internet access for remote assignments.

Additional Details:

  • Time Commitment: Minimum 20 hours per week with 4 hours overlap with PST.
  • Contract Type: Freelancer/contractor assignment.
  • Duration: 1 month.

Selection Process:

Task-based assessment followed by a contract offer with defined timelines and workload.
