Cybersecurity Engineer for Cloud and Data Center Deployments

Job Title: Sr SecOps Engineer

Motorola Solutions is seeking a skilled Sr SecOps Engineer to join our Unified Communications team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing deployment and monitoring standards for cloud and datacenter deployments.

Responsibilities:

  1. Define and implement deployment and monitoring standards for cloud and datacenter deployments
  2. Member of the team responsible for identifying potential information and network or internet security vulnerabilities and deploying security components such as Web Application Firewall, Antivirus, Cloud Workload Protection and SOAR tools
  3. Maintain security components mentioned above across the number of datacenter and cloud environments
  4. Maintenance and review of platform operational security configuration, including WAF rules, IDS/IPS settings, NSG settings, and security controls over the entirety of the infrastructure
  5. Stay abreast of technology evolution and conducts analysis, investigates and recommends security technologies including managed security services, firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, VPN and solutions for incorporation into product/services
  6. Develop tools for automated self verification of security functions
  7. Implement automated tools to support automated Inventory, identification of configuration changes, security alerting, CVE Tracking, and associated dashboards
  8. Support compliance assessments to various industry best practices and standards such as FedRAMP, CJIS, NIST, OWASP, GDPR, ISO, SOC 2, etc.
  9. Collaborate on SIEM Detection rules
  10. Collaborate with the Threat Management team during critical incidents to aid in remediation
  11. Oversee the company's security, backup, and redundancy strategies

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar is preferred
  2. Citizen of the United States (US) and residing on US soil
  3. 3+ years of experience in the following: software development & deployment in virtualized environments, security engineering, data engineering, SIEM platforms,SecOps, and Linux system administration experience
  4. Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of work partners
  5. Experience building and deploying On premise and cloud applications and tools
  6. Solid experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments
  7. Strong familiarity with cloud technologies primarily Azure and AWS
  8. Strong scripting experience with Shell Scripts, Powershell and Python
  9. Strong familiarity with the functions of WAF and IDS/IPS components
  10. Hands-on experience with using Splunk and Elasticsearch
  11. Familiarity with Red Hat Openshift is preferred
  12. Must be familiar with cloud security best practices
  13. Experience with Azure and AWS Security controls
  14. Must be familiar with tools used to secure docker/podman deployments such as Sentinalone
  15. Familiarity with CIS benchmarks including the Docker/podman, Linux benchmarks would be a plus
  16. Excellent knowledge of networking technologies, particularly with OSI network layers and TCP/IP
  17. CISM, CISSP or other Security Certifications preferred
