Accounting Operations Specialist

This position is embedded within a respected CPA & Accounting Services firm. We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee general accounting operations, including verification, allocation, posting, and reconciliation of accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts in a timely and accurate manner
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present results to stakeholders
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status to inform business decisions
  • Identify errors and suggest improvements to efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to optimize performance
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Plan, assign, and review staff work to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Liaise with Financial Controllers to improve financial procedures and enhance overall performance
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) will be preferred
  • General computer skills, including MS Office and accounting software packages like Xero and QuickBooks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with ability to articulate complex financial concepts
  • Multitasking capacity, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Highly organized and reliable, with strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
