Hardware Design Director

This position will oversee the overall hardware design function, driving the successful development of high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective hardware solutions for air conditioning products VRF, Residential, Chiller, Heat pump systems.

The incumbent will be responsible for strategic planning, execution, and delivery of hardware projects in alignment with business goals. The role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise in electronic hardware design, and proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a long-term vision and strategy for hardware design to meet business objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality hardware solutions that meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Design and review PCBs, and BOMs for air conditioning control systems to ensure compliance with EMI/EMC regulations.
  • Ensure robust design verification and validation processes are followed to mitigate design risks.
Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, schematic capture, PCB design tools, and hardware simulation.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM/DFT principles, and thermal management techniques.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC compliance, protection circuitry, and reliability testing methods.
Requirements:
  • 15-18 years of experience in hardware design with a focus on electronic hardware design.
  • B.E/B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation or related field.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Oversee resolution of field failures and continuous product improvement initiatives.
  • Mitigate design risks through FMEA, simulations, and rigorous testing to ensure product reliability.
