Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The Proofreader will be a crucial part of a collaborative team, tasked with reviewing and proofreading audit reports and financial statements for accuracy.

  • Review and proofread attest documents, ensuring adherence to standard firm format, including formatting, data verification (footing/tying, cross-referencing), spelling, grammar, punctuation, and tense.
  • Collaborate with attest teams to produce customizations and modifications to attest reports and financial statements.
  • Ensure high-quality attest documents meet consistency standards and are error-free.
  • Develop proficiency in multiple software/technology tools required to maintain efficient workflow and turnaround time.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in accounting firms or financial statement preparation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams for video meetings and training)
  • Adobe Pro (for document comparison and electronic proofreading markup)
  • CaseWare/CaseView, DataSnipper knowledge is a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills, proactive attitude, and ability to handle confidential information
  • Highly organized, effective time management skills, and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, able to take on additional responsibilities as needed
