Animal Health Supplements Formulation and Quality Control Expert

We are a pioneering pet nutraceuticals company embarking on our in-house manufacturing journey for dog and cat syrups/tonics. Our team is comprised of dedicated professionals seeking an experienced hands-on chemist to spearhead the process from scratch, oversee production, and ensure quality compliance.

This role involves collaborating closely with our founder to set up the manufacturing process, including designing and optimizing formulations for dogs and cats' syrups, tonics, and supplements. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of veterinary nutraceutical ingredients, practical experience with syrup/tonic production, and excellent documentation habits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create effective formulations for canine and feline syrups, tonics, and nutraceutical supplements.
  • Select suitable excipients, preservatives, flavors, and stabilizers that are safe for animal consumption.
  • Supervise small-scale batch preparation (mixing, filtration, filling, capping, labeling) for pet health supplements.
  • Train and mentor our founder in step-by-step production procedures.
  • Maintain stringent hygiene and cleaning standards for pet product manufacturing.
  • Conduct basic QC tests (pH, clarity, taste/palatability, viscosity, appearance) specific to canine and feline supplements.
  • Evaluate incoming raw materials (vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts for pets).
  • Manage stability samples and quality records.
  • Prepare and maintain Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
  • Ensure adherence to relevant FSSAI/nutraceutical and veterinary supplement regulations.
  • Act as the 'Technical Person' for licensing and inspections.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: B.Pharm / M.Pharm (preferred) or equivalent qualifications in related fields.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in pet health supplements / veterinary nutraceuticals / animal syrups or tonic manufacturing.
  • Must have hands-on experience in both formulation and QC for dogs and cats products.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with QC lab equipment (pH meter, weighing balance, viscometer).
