Organic Chemist Opportunity
The role of an Organic Chemist involves designing, synthesizing, and characterizing organic compounds for various applications. Key responsibilities include conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results to drive innovation and advance research goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute organic synthesis routes to target compounds, applying theoretical knowledge of organic chemistry principles and techniques.
- Perform purification and characterization of organic molecules using analytical techniques such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), and Infrared (IR) spectroscopy.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to troubleshoot reactions and optimize synthetic routes, utilizing strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and address project challenges, leveraging excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations, adhering to safety protocols and best practices in the laboratory environment.
- Stay current with literature and technological advancements in organic chemistry to contribute to the development of novel methodologies and technologies.
Requirements:
- PhD / Master's degree in organic chemistry or a related field, or evidence of exceptional ability.
- 1-2+ years of industrial experience preferred.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of organic chemistry principles and techniques.
- Hands-on experience with organic synthesis, purification, and characterization methods.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced research environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical conduct in scientific research.
