Freight Manager

Job Description:

The role of Freight Manager is to oversee all ocean freight operations in the region. This includes ensuring compliance, service quality, and cost efficiency while driving process improvements and stakeholder collaboration.

This involves managing and controlling all ocean freight operations (FCL, LCL, imports, exports) in the West region, ensuring compliance, service quality, and cost efficiency.

Additionally, this role drives P&L performance for the ocean freight product in the region, delivering on revenue, gross profit, and cost optimization targets.

Strong relationships with carriers, NVOCCs, and vendors are developed to secure competitive procurement rates and optimal space allocation.

Collaboration with sales and account management teams supports business growth, improves customer satisfaction, and expands market share in key trade lanes.

Regional performance is monitored through KPIs (transit times, documentation accuracy, operational efficiency) and corrective action is taken to ensure service reliability.

Adherence to company SOPs, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements is ensured while driving process improvements and digitalization.

Leadership, mentoring, and developing the regional ocean operations team ensures engagement, capability building, and performance delivery.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant working experience in the logistics industry in similar capacity with regional or P&L responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, leadership capabilities, and ability to manage conflict and drive alignment across functions.
