CoreIP Legal Services seeks a highly skilled Patent Drafting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our intellectual property law firm, you will be responsible for drafting high-quality patent applications and responses in compliance with various international regulations.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in chemistry and extensive experience in patent drafting. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping us deliver top-notch services to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Draft provisional and non-provisional patent applications that meet USPTO, EPO, and PCT standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive responses to examination reports and office actions, leveraging your technical knowledge and communication skills to present clear and persuasive arguments.
  • Support our litigation team by conducting research, analyzing recent cases, and providing expert analysis.
  • Conduct inventor interviews and coordinate with client IP counsel to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Independently manage multiple projects, adhering to internal policies and processes while consistently delivering high-quality results.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical expertise in the chemistry domain, with proficiency in related life sciences fields.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Visio, as well as a working knowledge of patent search and analytics tools.
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with patent databases and excellent interpersonal skills.
Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years of experience in patent draft preparation is required. A BS in Chemistry or higher degree in a relevant field is preferred.

The salary range for this position is approximately $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
