Radiology Medical Coder Position

This is a dynamic opportunity for highly skilled and detail-oriented radiology medical coders to join our organization. As a radiology medical coder, you will play a pivotal role in assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations, payer-specific requirements, and internal quality standards. This includes reviewing and analyzing radiology reports, coding various radiology modalities, collaborating with radiologists, billing staff, and auditors, and staying updated with coding guidelines and regulatory changes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for radiology procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, payer-specific requirements, and internal quality standards
  • Coding of various radiology modalities including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation oncology
  • Collaboration with radiologists, billing staff, and auditors to resolve coding discrepancies
  • Stay updated with coding guidelines and regulatory changes
  • Meet daily productivity and accuracy benchmarks as established by the department
  • Assist in internal and external audits as needed
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a strong background in radiology coding and possess the following qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience in radiology coding (IR preferred)
  • MIPS Coding is Mandatory
  • In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes
  • Familiarity with payer-specific rules and LCD/NCD policies
