Linux System Administrator Job

About This Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Linux system administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our OpenShift clusters, performing regular upgrades and patching, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery, and providing Level 3 support for incidents and problems related to OpenShift.

Additionally, the candidate will be expected to monitor and optimize the performance of OCP clusters, implement security policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards, and develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks and deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cluster Management: Install, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Performance & Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of OCP clusters.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks and deployments.
  • Documentation & Training: Create and maintain detailed documentation of the OCP environment and processes.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations.
  • 3+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration, particularly RHEL.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
  • Understanding of network configurations, load balancing, and firewall management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Bonus Requirements:

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
