Senior Front-end Developer Role at Applicantz

We are seeking an experienced Senior Front-end Developer to join our team at Applicantz, a leading global technology company.

The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of professional experience in front-end development focusing on the MERN stack and React. Our ideal candidate will be highly skilled in React, JavaScript, and the MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) stack, with expertise in HTML, CSS, LESS, unit testing, debugging, and code review.

This is a contract position with a competitive estimated salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and delivering high-quality, user-centric web applications using your expertise in front-end development.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in front-end development focusing on the MERN stack and React
  • Proficiency in:
    • React In-depth knowledge of React, including hooks, component lifecycle, state management, and context API
    • JavaScript (ES6+): Strong skills in modern JavaScript, including concepts like closures, promises, async/await, and modularisation
    • HTML/CSS/LESS: Excellent grasp of HTML5, CSS3, and LESS pre-processor for creating responsive, accessible, cross-browser-compatible designs
    • UI/UX Implementation: Enhance user experience by creating visually appealing and responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and LESS
    • Node.js and Express: Understanding back-end development and RESTful API design in a Node.js environment
    • MongoDB: Knowledge of NoSQL databases, especially for data handling and storage
    • Unit Testing: Experience with unit testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Enzyme to ensure code reliability and maintainability
    • Debugging & Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex client- and server-side issues
    • Performance Optimization: Improve application performance and loading speed to enhance user satisfaction
    • Version Control: Proficiency with Git and Git workflows (branching, merging, pull requests)
    • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana
