EDI Specialist Role

The EDI Specialist plays a vital role in developing and maintaining electronic data interchange capabilities. This position requires technical proficiency, project management, and collaborative skills to implement, manage, and optimize EDI systems and workflows.

The successful candidate will ensure that all electronic transactions meet business and compliance requirements of partners and drive continuous improvements in EDI processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • EDI System Management and Optimization
    • Oversee setup, maintenance, configuration of partner integrations
    • Ensure optimal performance through routine system monitoring
    • Implement EDI standards and new transaction types based on business and partner requirements
    • Evaluate EDI process for opportunities to improve and streamline data flows for optimal efficiency and ease-of-use
  • Projects and Implementation
    • Participate and lead EDI implementation initiatives and projects
    • Work closely with SAP team and EDI providers
    • Collaborate with 3PL and other EDI stakeholders
  • Data Mapping and Transaction Handling
    • Develop and maintain data maps and transaction sets
    • Analyze and transform data
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Technical Support and Training
    • Provide technical support, trouble shooting and incident handling
    • Train internal teams in processes and systems
    • Enhance team's abilities to resolve EDI issues independently
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT, XML) and communication protocols (e.g., AS2, FTP, SFTP)
  • Problem Solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated customer focus with ability to meet project timelines
  • Experience working in ambiguous environment
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing and supporting EDI solutions, including working with warehouse and logistics transactions
  • Project Management experience
  • Team leadership experience
  • Experience in healthcare industry preferred
