Electrical Engineer Position

This role involves designing electrical equipment and materials for industrial facilities globally. Our company has extensive experience working in various countries worldwide.

We are looking for professionals with expertise in oil & gas, refinery, power plant, and petrochemical sectors. They must possess good knowledge of activities including FEED and Detail Engineering within Power and Oil and Gas Projects.

Role Summary:

Individuals with a degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant engineering experience are required. They must have strong skills in single line drawings and schematics, as well as proficiency in lighting, earthing, and lightning calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design main electrical equipment and materials
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and data sheets
  • Perform electrical equipment and material sizing calculations
  • Prepare Hazardous Area Classification with Designer support (only 2D drawings), Panel schedules (Power and Lighting), Interconnection and Wiring Diagrams, Control Schematics
  • Prepare MTO/BOM, Lighting Calculations, Cable Tray and Trench sizing Calculations
  • Requisition for Inquiry and Purchase of Electrical Equipment's (TRANSFORMERS, SWITCHGEARS, GENERATORS, BUS DUCTS, UPS, CAPACITORS, CATHODIC PROTECTION) and Bulk Materials(Cables, Trays, Lighting and Grounding materials)
  • Technical Bid Evaluation of Offers for Electrical Equipment's and Bulk Materials & TB Tabulation preparation
  • Interact and collaborate with rest of technical disciplines involved
  • Ability to deal with change and demonstrate flexibility as required
  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental issues
  • Manage engineering vendors data
  • Report engineering status and progress

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Designing for electrical equipment and materials
  • 5 to 20 year or more experience working in the electrical discipline in an engineering company
  • Effective communication skills
  • Understanding of other disciplines
  • Able to complete tasks in accordance with project requirements
  • Able to discuss routine technical problems and communicate effectively with immediate Supervisor and other project personnel
  • Excellent English language skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing
  • Knowledge of electrical calculation software (ETAP, SKM, Digisilent, Dialux)
  • Experience as electrical site engineer
