Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

The role of an Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist involves the oversight of preventive maintenance & breakdown of instruments and electrical equipment through adherence to engineering standards.

• Maintaining effective communication with authorities and ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements.
• Collaborating with regional teams to implement best practices in maintenance, including Risk Based Maintenance (RBM) and EPS in Instrumentation and Electrical streams.
• Driving digitalization initiatives such as OT security and leading Loss of Safety Control (LOSC) efforts.

Main Responsibilities:

• Managing departmental activities for Instrumentation and Electrical functions.
• Ensuring timely compliance with regulations related to Nucleonic Gauge, handling training through A.E.R.B./BARC and working as a Radiological Safety Officer.
• Guaranteeing timely compliance with Instrumentation (Weights and Measure Metrology related, GPCB related, etc.) and Electrical (Annual Inspection, DG set registration & Duty filing, Communication with DGVCL/GETCO, Etc.) regulations.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC Systems, specifically Control Logix, PLANT PAX, FT BATCH, SCADA AND LOGIC programming development.
• Proficiency in SAP and SAP Plant Maintenance module, with experience in Notification and Work Order management.
• Knowledge of filter press Hydraulic system, Spray Dryer Burner System, Boiler Burner and safety interlocking system.
• Timely calibration of field instruments, MCI and various measuring instruments.
• Guiding subordinates in equipment repair and readiness for use as per requirement.
• Installing, commissioning and validating new equipment. Providing Instrument and Electrical related Mechanical support designing, fabrication through vendor.
• Selecting proper instruments, including Mass Flow meter, Pressure transmitter, Thermocouple, Magnetic Flowmeter, pH Meter, Turbidity meter, Conductivity meter, Ozone Generator, Weighing system, etc.
• Configuring EPBX, CCTV and other systems.
• Planned contract manpower allocation, assigning jobs daily and ensuring safe maintenance.
• Coordinating and executing shut down maintenance jobs.
• Supporting cost control, analyzing breakdowns, preparing CAPA, diagnosing root causes and implementing actions.
• Collaborating with external vendors and departments while fostering teamwork.
• Estimating costs for equipment maintenance, repair and replacement.
• Participating in assigned EHSQ and GMP actions.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable EHS legal requirements and Evonik guidelines.
• Implementing safe maintenance practices through adherence to EHS policy, Life Saving Rules, Work Permit, Personal Protective Equipments, Management of Change, Pre-Job Plan, Incident Reporting and EHS procedures.
• Maintaining documents like Equipment History Card, Maintenance Checklist, Reports to Management, Standard Practice Instruction, ISO related etc.
• Communicating effectively with authorities and complying with legal requirements.
• Active participation in conceptualizing, executing and commissioning projects.
• Ensuring spare availability by collaborating with Purchase department and Engineering Stores through Min/Max system for spares.
• Preparing Appropriation Requests for major expenditures.
• Responsible for training on SAP Maintenance Module to all new joiners of the department.
• Leading digitalization initiatives such as OT security, global policy standard implementation, and acting as LOSC.
