Job Title: Risk Specialist

\

Risk Specialists work closely with risk takers, risk managers and control groups to ensure business objectives are met. This role is responsible for managing market risk and ensuring fair value assessment of books and records within the organization.

\

The primary market risk objective is to optimize the risk-reward relationship and not expose the organization to unacceptable losses. We work closely with various teams in the process to ensure these objectives can be met.

\

This role is part of Market Valuation and Risk Management (MVRM) which is responsible for managing market risk and ensuring fair value assessment of books and records within Deutsche Bank.

\

The team works closely with various stakeholders including risk takers, risk managers and control groups to ensure business objectives are met. The primary market risk objective is to optimize the risk-reward relationship and not expose the organization to unacceptable losses.

\

We are looking for a skilled professional who can apply their experience and subject matter expertise to perform tasks such as VaR/SVaR impact analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global markets across asset classes and be able to connect macroeconomic events with impact on various market data points.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Apply experience and subject matter expertise to perform tasks such as VaR/SVaR impact analysis.\
  • Perform data quality checks to ensure completeness and accuracy of EOD data/time series.\
  • Manage weekly market data releases within SLAs for VaR/SVaR/FRTB/Economic capital calculation.\
  • Analyze impacts of time-series changes on group level VaR and communicate/coordinate effectively with stakeholders.\
  • Liaise with Market risk managers, FO quant, change teams and Methodology to perform deep dives on data challenges in new market risk models/methodology changes/RNIV and implementation of new regulations.\
  • Actively participate in proxy decision making and come up with appropriate proxy choices for a time-series.\
  • Perform Stressed-period-selection and analyze results for accuracy and reliability.\
  • Help specify requirements and test functionality for new implementation and coordinate with Risk-IT and Strats for seamless implementation of new data requirements and process enhancements.\
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for all systems and processes.\
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.\
  • Identify and address risks associated with new technologies and processes.\
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all activities and transactions.\
  • Conduct regular reviews of system performance and make recommendations for improvement.\
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.\
  • Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and training programs.\
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.\
  • Provide support and guidance to junior team members.\
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.\
  • Other responsibilities as required by the business.\
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:\
    • \
    • 5-8 years experience in investment banking, Market Risk, specifically in controlled production environments.\
    • Good knowledge of financial instruments and understanding pricing of vanilla derivatives across all asset classes.\
    • Strong understanding of global markets across asset classes and ability to connect macroeconomic events with impact on various market data points.\
    • Demonstrated excellence in production activities for a financial institution with a strong control culture.\
    • Experience of change management and implementation of new production processes.\
    • Hands-on experience of using external data sources such as Bloomberg, MarkIT & Reuters.\
    • Programming skills in Python is a must.\
    • Bachelor's degree in finance from an accredited college or university.\
    • Certification in Financial Risk Management will be a plus.\
