Job Title: STEM Educator

Job Description

The STEM Faculty member will be responsible for delivering high-quality workshops and courses for teachers in STEM, utilizing progressive pedagogical and adult learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing capacity building program plans in STEM and providing inputs for the preparation of the academic calendar for educational institutions.
  • Coordinating with other subject teams for planning and executing the STEM programs.
  • Analysing feedback on training programs received from teachers and other training participants and incorporating it into subsequent trainings.
  • Providing direction for the STEM program in alignment with current educational policies and guidelines.

The faculty member will also be responsible for content development, including:

  • Developing detailed program frameworks, teaching plans, and workshop modules for effective implementation based on background studies of relevant national and international reference materials.
  • Strengthening the Resource Centre and developing subject-specific resource material, including teacher manuals, interactive models, TLM, reference material, assessment tools, etc.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Regularly updating developed resources based on conducted action research/primary or secondary research or other academic reading and writing.
  • Conducting training need assessments, baseline and end-line assessments for checking the effectiveness of the program.
  • Conceptualising, designing, and conducting research/s on a regular basis to explore the latest methodologies, resources, and approaches in education and the expertise area to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the program modules and other resources.

Responsibilities in Schools:

  • Observing classroom sessions at various schools to understand the impact of the programs.
  • Planning and providing on-site support to selected teachers in schools in the respective subject.
  • Intensive engagement with a cohort of teachers for understanding the factors required for effective change in teaching practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Documenting and reporting progress on allocated tasks.
  • Preparing and submitting training reports, classroom observation reports, events, and other reports.

Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in capacity-building programs in Teacher Education.
  • M.Sc. (Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry), B.Ed or an equivalent degree.
