Backend Software Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, efficient, and secure backend systems that meet the needs of our business.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of software engineering principles and practices, with expertise in designing and developing high-quality, scalable, and secure software systems. They will also have strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services and APIs.
  • Implementing server-side logic, databases, and data storage solutions.
  • Optimizing database schemas, queries, and indexes for efficiency.
  • Diagnosing and resolving performance bottlenecks, implementing caching and load balancing.
  • Ensuring backend security against common threats (SQL injection, XSS, etc.).
  • Collaborating with frontend, DevOps, and product teams.
  • Mentoring junior developers and ensuring coding best practices.
  • Developing and running unit, integration, and performance tests.
  • Monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining uptime reliability.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Expertise in RESTful and GraphQL API design.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of Git, version control, and branching strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Memcached.
  • Knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform/Ansible.
  • Exposure to frameworks such as Django, Flask, Spring Boot, Go Micro.
