Job Title:

Data Modeler Role

  • A Data Modeler plays a pivotal role in translating complex business requirements into data models that align with the client’s architectural guidelines and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop logical data models based on an understanding of conceptual models, conducting data profiling to deliver high-quality data models within standards defined by clients and the industry.
  2. Collaborate with Lead Data Modelers/Architects to analyze requirements, create clarification lists if needed, and define data requirements based on understanding of business processes.
  3. Map KPIs to conceptual models and validate them with Managers, SMEs, etc.
  4. Create logical models capturing entity descriptions, tables, columns, and map conceptual to logical models ensuring coverage.
  5. Define attributes and domains (data types), creating physical models for small and simple projects.
  6. Seek review inputs from Leads/Managers/Architects on logical and physical models.
  7. Develop data dictionaries/business glossaries based on developed models, if required, and define data governance models to ensure data quality.
  8. Interact with SMEs and Architects to validate data model alignment with technology suggested for projects.
  9. Participate in Data Model Health Assessments and provide technical guidance to design/development teams on understanding data models.

Qualifications:

  1. Strong knowledge of Dimensional/Relation Data Modeling.
  2. At least 7+ years of Data Modeling experience working in large databases.
  3. Proficiency in ERWIN, DeZign modeling tools, RDBMS Concepts, Data Analysis, and good SQL knowledge.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  5. Experience in Banking, Health, and Life Insurance domains is preferable.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This Data Modeler role requires a blend of analytical and communication skills, as well as experience in data modeling and working with large databases.
