Senior Infrastructure Strategist

Job Purpose:

Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive infrastructure strategies, encompassing on-premise data center management and cloud deployments.

  • Create and execute infrastructure roadmaps to drive optimal effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Analyze existing infrastructure and develop plans to enhance or leverage these systems.
  • Negotiate procurements of software, hardware, and other IT supplies as approved by senior leadership.
  • Manage inventory of software licenses, hardware, and other IT assets.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and peers to gain acceptance for alternative approaches.
  • Oversee outsourced teams for daily operations and activities.
  • Develop solutions to complex business problems, requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Perform live disaster recovery activities and periodic DR drills.
  • Possess working knowledge of servers, storage, databases, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and networks.
  • Ensure production incident management and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Technology/Bachelor of Engineering/Master of Computer Applications/Master of Business Administration.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in infrastructure management, covering both on-premise data centers and cloud infrastructure.

Skills Required:

  • Program and project management expertise.
  • Planning and executing infrastructure-related projects.
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge of infrastructure components, including servers, storage, databases, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and networks.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles.

Functional Competencies:

  • Ability to conduct infrastructure discovery assessments and transformation strategies.
  • Holistic understanding of all data center functions, including production operations, change control, disaster recovery/business continuity, helpdesk, systems management, and facilities.
  • Experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration consideration.
