Job Title: Data Management Specialist

The position of Data Management Specialist involves the installation, configuration, maintenance, and securing of SQL Server databases. This role is critical to ensuring database availability, performance, and reliability while supporting development and business teams through effective data management and troubleshooting.

  • Install and configure SQL Server databases
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for improved efficiency
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Manage database security, including user roles and permissions
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as indexing and statistics updates
  • Troubleshoot database issues, including connectivity and locking problems
  • Automate routine tasks using T-SQL or PowerShell scripts
  • Collaborate with developers on database design and query optimization

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
  • Proficient in SQL Server installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL and backups/restore procedures
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Familiarity with database security and access control best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • Experience with cloud-based SQL databases
  • Knowledge of high availability and replication configurations
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds

This role requires strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide expert-level support for database management and administration.
