Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

Educational level: Master's degree in civil engineering specializing in rock engineering is a must for this role. A solid foundation in the principles of geomechanics, rock mechanics, and structural analysis is also required.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience working with rock-related projects. Experience with working on multidisciplinary large urban infrastructure projects e.g linear infrastructure, knowledge of soft soil and rock conditions, rock excavation methods (both TBM and drill blast), rock reinforcement and grouting analysis and design, rock mechanics modeling, as-built drawings, FEM simulations, and DFN fracture modeling are essential.

We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills in English, both in speaking and writing, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt to new tools and technologies.

A medium to high level of experience in computer software such as Autocad Civil 3D, Microstation, R3, Midas GTS, Grasshopper, Navisworks, SWedge, UnWedge, and DIPS is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform site investigations, collect and analyze data to determine the geotechnical properties of rock formations.
  • Design and develop effective rock excavation and support systems for tunnels and other underground structures.
  • Conduct FEM simulations and rock mechanics modeling to optimize tunnel design and minimize risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of the project are well-coordinated and executed efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, meeting minutes, and technical reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Mechanics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in rock-related projects, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of geomechanics, rock mechanics, and structural analysis principles.
  • Experience with rock excavation methods, rock reinforcement and grouting analysis and design, rock mechanics modeling, as-built drawings, FEM simulations, and DFN fracture modeling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Autocad Civil 3D, Microstation, R3, Midas GTS, Grasshopper, Navisworks, SWedge, UnWedge, and DIPS software.
