Patent Specialist Job Description

The role entails drafting patent applications for innovative ICT inventions. A successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality patent applications that meet US and EP patent standards.

  • Deliver prosecution projects by formulating response strategies to office actions and drafting complete responses.
  • Craft well-written provisional specifications and patent applications, including claim sets that adhere to legal and procedural standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on technical areas, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Mentor interns and team members in assigned technology areas, providing direction and support for drafting and prosecution work.
  • Apply process knowledge to produce consistent, high-quality results in assigned tasks.
  • Work independently on projects, creating and supporting processes for client deliverables, talent development, and process customization.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify issues, implement best practices, and provide recommendations to enhance team performance and productivity.
  • Use available tools to analyze and solve problems, contributing to the team's success.
  • Participate in the hiring process, preparing test papers, evaluating candidates, and conducting interviews.
  • Lead team members in specialized technical assignments and projects, requiring high-level proficiency and competency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or technology from a reputable institution.
  • Excellent domain knowledge in the ICT field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in patent drafting and/or prosecution, with at least 2 years of experience in patent drafting for US jurisdiction.

Experience in drafting 50+ patent applications for the US domain is highly desirable.
