Job Description:

The role of a backup management specialist involves ensuring data integrity, availability, and recoverability across all systems. This includes compliance with regulatory requirements such as pharma compliances.

Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations of backup and recovery environments across on-premise and cloud platforms. This involves leading and mentoring a team of backup administrators and support staff to ensure high system availability and performance.

Developing, enforcing, and maintaining backup policies, schedules, and procedures aligned with business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) strategies is also crucial. Additionally, monitoring backup jobs, investigating failures, and resolving issues in a timely manner to minimize risk and data loss is vital.

Collaboration with application, database, and infrastructure teams is necessary to meet and maintain data protection and retention requirements. Moreover, maintaining comprehensive documentation of backup configurations, processes, and recovery procedures, aligned with GSOP standards, is essential.

Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal data retention policies and audit requirements is also a key responsibility. Finally, evaluating, recommending, and implementing new technologies and tools to optimize backup performance, cost, and reliability is an ongoing process.

Requirements:
  • 10-12 years of experience in IT backup management.
  • Degree or appropriate professional qualification.
  • Certification & Trainings on backup, storage, and ITIL technology domains.
