Design Lead for Rural Digital Experiences

We are seeking an experienced Design Lead to own the design strategy and user experience of our platform.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and validating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems that bring simplicity, trust, and impact to farmer-centric digital experiences.

  • Owning design strategy and quarterly UX roadmap aligned to business goals.
  • Translating product requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma and Miro.
  • Defining and maintaining design systems, UI patterns, and style guides to ensure visual and functional consistency.
  • Partnering with Product Owners to convert epics and user stories into design deliverables with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Conducting end-to-end user research: interviews, field visits, surveys, and usability testing with farmers, FPOs, and partners.
  • Translating feedback into actionable design improvements, balancing usability, accessibility, and technical feasibility.
  • Championing UX for rural contexts: vernacular flows, low-bandwidth/offline-first design, accessibility, and culturally relevant trust cues.
  • Collaborating closely with Engineering to ensure pixel-perfect handoff, clarity on design specifications, and smooth implementation.
  • Running design experiments (A/B testing, prototypes) and analyzing outcomes to optimize key funnels (onboarding, engagement, transactions).
  • Ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, data privacy guidelines, and local regulations in all user interfaces.
  • Maintaining awareness of industry trends, competitor interfaces, and evolving UX best practices to keep us ahead.
  • Reporting weekly on design progress, open issues, and risks; ensuring alignment with Product and Engineering teams.
