Cultural Outreach Facilitator

Role Overview:

We seek a skilled Cultural Outreach Facilitator to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for translating content from English into Hindi for various materials.

You will also facilitate vernacular outreach by managing and updating the Hindi website and social media platforms.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Content Translation: Translate written English content into accurate and meaningful Hindi for our website, social media, news releases, media statements, newsletters, video scripts, billboards, leaflets, letters, demonstration materials, and other outreach materials.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with freelance translators and proofreaders working in other Indian languages to ensure smooth, timely, and accurate delivery of multilingual campaign content.
  • Website Management: Assist in managing and maintaining our Hindi website, including uploading content in accordance with standard operating procedures and ensuring regular updates with the latest campaign news, blogs, and resources.
  • Social Media Management: Support content development and management of our Hindi Facebook page and other regional social media platforms, including responding to followers with approved, informative, and polite replies.
  • Creative Development: Collaborate with the Online and Campaigns teams to create and adapt Hindi creatives for social media use.
Requirements:
  • Translation Experience: Minimum two (2) years of practical experience in translation from English to Hindi.
  • Coordination Skills: Strong coordination skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team of freelance translators and liaise with various internal departments.
  • Language Skills: Excellent translation skill from English to Hindi and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi.
  • Time-Management: Strong time-management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Philosophy Alignment: Strong alignment with PETA India's philosophy and the ability to advocate its positions respectfully and effectively.
