Job Overview

The Facility Operations Manager will oversee the maintenance department, ensuring smooth facility operations through effective management of engineering, electrical, and civil activities.

This role involves executing preventive maintenance planning, repair estimation, vendor performance monitoring, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The Facility Operations Manager will partner with the Operations Department to resolve technical issues related to equipment breakdowns, improve maintenance practices, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

This position also involves supervising a small team of maintenance technicians, coordinating activities related to fuel and electricity management, spare part inventory, and facility compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Execute preventive maintenance planning and execution
  • Supervise electrical, mechanical, and firefighting equipment maintenance
  • Monitor vendor performance and manage maintenance materials
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage spare part planning, monitoring, and technical confirmation
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Create and implement preventive maintenance documents and schedules for equipment
  • Maintain records for diesel consumption and tire efficiency of handling equipment
  • Provide reports on maintenance activities, fuel usage, and electrical consumption

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline or certifications in Maintenance Management/Facilities Management is a plus

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and rail siding equipment maintenance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to plan and manage preventive maintenance and repair activities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and complex written information
