Data Testing Engineer is a critical role that involves ensuring the quality and integrity of data throughout various sources, including APIs, databases, and data engineering pipelines.
Key Responsibilities- Develop automated and manual test cases for data validation and transformation processes, utilizing tools like Pytest to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with data engineers and developers to understand data flows, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure quality across the pipeline.
- Write Python scripts using Pandas for data comparison, profiling, and anomaly detection, leveraging libraries like NumPy and Matplotlib to visualize results.
- Test data against RESTful APIs for correctness, performance, and reliability, using techniques like API mocking and stubbing to streamline testing.
- Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports, to ensure transparency and accountability in the testing process.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Pandas, and data manipulation libraries.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and collaboration tools, like Slack or Jira.
- Familiarity with MongoDB and NoSQL data models, as well as experience with data validation, data profiling, and data quality frameworks.
