Job Title: Accounting Operations Specialist

Mission:

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the accounting department in delivering accurate and timely financial statements. This involves preparing and recording detailed AP, AR, and other general accounting transactions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Excel and knowledge of advanced accounting platforms such as NetSuite are required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to multitask are essential.
Month-End & Year-End Processes:

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and accounting for AP & corporate expense reports.
  • Performing monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Assisting with tax filings.
  • Executing month close activities, including accruals, prepays, deferrals, etc.
  • Supporting revenue recognition & refunds.
  • Reviewing monthly Income Statement and providing explanations on monthly fluctuations for P&L accounts.
Accounts Payable Processing:

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and approving POs and invoices in Nexonia.
  • Processing weekly check run for vendor payments.
  • Initiating wire requests.
  • Creating necessary AP accrual journal entries and monthly deferral entries.
  • Coordinating 1099 filings.
Audit Assistance:

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing AP and other Accounting documents requested for audit.
  • Working directly with auditor for any questions.
  • Performing walkthrough of Accounting tasks as requested by auditors.
Fixed Assets:

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accuracy of Fixed Assets additions & retirements.
  • Maintaining Fixed Assets Module.
  • Verifying that all assets are depreciated monthly.
  • Verifying that monthly depreciation journal entries are accurate.
  • Creating all necessary retirement entries.
Government & Business Filings:

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring government filings and business renewals are filed on time.
  • Maintaining Business Filings document.
  • Working with tax consultant.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 3 to 5 years accounting experience. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with various internal stakeholders and external vendors, as well as navigating a remote-first work environment.
