Senior IT Audit Specialist

We have a long-standing partnership with a prominent firm of Certified Public Accountants and Advisors based in the US. They cater to diverse industries, providing Assurance, Advisory, Risk, and Compliance services. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, this leading firm serves both domestic and international companies, leveraging their extensive expertise in SSAE 21 (SOC 1 / SOC 2 / SOC 3) services.

Their team consists of dedicated professionals with comprehensive experience domestically and internationally in SSAE 21 (SOC 1 / SOC 2 / SOC 3) examinations, financial audits, and other attestation services. This includes their status as a PCI QSA Company and HITRUST CSF Assessor Firm. Many team members have previously worked at Big 4 accounting firms, completing numerous financial audits, SSAE 21 (SOC 1 / SOC 2 / SOC 3) examinations, and other attestation services.

Our partner firm advises clients on preparing for various compliance initiatives and has extensive Internal Audit and Compliance experience. This allows them to provide a complete circle (360°) of Assurance, Advisory, Risk, and Compliance services to their clients.

We are seeking an experienced Staff IT Audit Consultant well-versed in SSAE 21 (SOC Reporting) and other AICPA standards. As part of our team, you will assist senior IT audit consultants and report to the Manager, Executive Director, or CEO. Occasionally, you may work directly with the CEO on strategic engagements. We are looking for an individual who is eager to contribute to the team's success and take initiative to improve relationships and processes.

This role offers autonomy and requires the ability to drive results while maintaining high-quality deliverables within project timelines.

1. Participate in planning activities to identify client needs and service opportunities in Assurance, Advisory, Risk, and Compliance services.
2. Lead the growth and delivery of engagements, working closely with supervisors and clients to coordinate efforts on engagements, including System and Organization Controls (SOC) Examinations, PCI DSS Assessments, HITRUST Assessments, IT Audits, internal audit engagements, pre and post-implementation assessments, and issuance of reports under the AICPA Consulting and Attestation Standards.
3. Collaborate with clients to execute engagements, focusing on leveraging industry and functional insights from our advisory business to bring greater value to clients.
4. Design and implement high-quality, integrated, and efficient audit procedures.
5. Assist in building audit methodology, working paper guidelines, quality review standards, and communication protocols. Develop audit programs and procedures to establish audit processes, streamline control testing, and ensure effective operations.
6. Create and implement audit strategies relating to the evaluation of significant applications relevant to financial audits.
7. Prepare and communicate issues, risk, and recommendations to client leadership, including ongoing insights on potential corrective action plans.
8. Identify potential clients and generate leads for AARC-360.
9. Maintain adherence to all quality standards and processes, including the firm's independence requirements, for acquiring clients, opportunities, and submitting proposal and contract documents.

To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, when interacting with clients and team members. Additionally, you must demonstrate collaboration with other engagement team members to plan the engagement and develop work program timelines, risk assessments, budgets, and other planning documents.

You will lead the engagement team to ensure quality workpapers and deliverables, provide regular status updates, and adhere to project timelines. A detailed understanding of standards, regulations, and information systems is also essential. Strong project management skills are required, maintaining a culture of teamwork, project timelines, and quality deliverables.

Demonstrated confidentiality and integrity within a professional environment are necessary qualities for this position.

A bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of related work experience or a graduate degree and approximately one to two years of related work experience are required. A degree in business, accounting, finance, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline is preferred.

A Chartered Accountant with membership in the ICAI is highly regarded. Previous experience as an auditor or risk advisor for a CA firm, professional services firm, or financial services company, or comparable experience as an advisor to a financial services company, is essential.

Experience with at least two of the following types of engagements: Service Organization Control (SOC) reporting, internal audit risk assessment, financial statement audits/SOX/internal controls, PCI and/or HITRUST Assessments, and/or Application security and control reviews (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday), is advantageous.
