Process Improvement Lead

Job Purpose:
The Maritime Operations Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of ship management operations. This role aims to optimize operational performance, reduce costs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the fleet's management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Analysis and Improvement:
- Analyze current ship management processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvement strategies and initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce costs.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and continuously refine processes for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with QHSE teams to integrate safety and regulatory requirements into process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage process improvement projects from conception through to completion.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure successful project implementation.
- Develop project plans, set milestones, and track progress against goals.
- Training and Development:
- Work with the Training department to ensure understanding and adoption of new processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with ship managers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback on process improvements.
- Maintain effective communication channels to ensure alignment and support for improvement initiatives.
- Technology and Innovation:
- Work together with the Technology department to drive the implementation of digital solutions and innovation to streamline operations.
Requirements:
- Currently working as a technical or marine superintendent with sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Master.
- At least one year's shore-based experience focusing on operational improvement or Safety & Quality function of a shipping or ship management organization.
- Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and projects.
- Experience with project management, lean methodologies, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks.
