Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

This role is centered around overseeing and ensuring the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a Quality Management System within operations & labs.
The position ensures compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, BIS, BPI, internal standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements across all testing and inspection activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor the QMS to ensure compliance with:
- ISO /IEC 17025, ISO 9001 & BIS
- Accreditation/Approval bodies, and any other requirements that arise from time to time.
- Monitor and ensure the management system is implemented in various departments and appraise management on its effectiveness.
- Lead quality audits (internal and external) and manage corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Register customer complaints and resolve them by organizing investigation, root cause analysis.
- Train staff on QMS requirements, quality procedures, and testing standards.
- Conduct periodic quality checks for tests carried out in the LAB through appropriate tools like retest, Inter-laboratory, Intra-laboratory, proficiency tests etc.
- Control management system documents in the LAB.
- Liaise with accreditation/approval/regulatory bodies regarding compliance and approval.
- Review, approve, and issue all quality management system documents.
- Improve the management system and identify deviations from the management system or procedure for performing tests, and initiate action to prevent or minimize such deviations.
- Coordinate and supervise quality inspection and testing activities under ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
- Collaborate with laboratory teams to ensure participation in PT/ILC, calibration, and maintenance of instruments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemistry, Quality Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance or laboratory management, preferably within petroleum or chemical testing services.
- Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and laboratory accreditation processes.
- Experience with auditing (internal/external) and regulatory compliance.
- Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 & ISO 17025 is an advantage.
