Job Title: Chief Innovation Officer

About the Role:

The Chief Innovation Officer will lead our research and development function with a strong focus on product development, technical excellence, and innovation.

This role is responsible for managing R&D operations, aligning research initiatives with business objectives, and driving product development to meet organizational goals.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Innovation Strategy & Vision
  • Define and implement an R&D strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize research projects and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop business cases for new product innovations and improvements.
R&D Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the R&D team.
  • Oversee new product development, formulation improvements, prototyping, and testing.
  • Monitor R&D budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure IP strategy (patents, trade secrets) aligns with research outputs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure product readiness and market fit.
  • Translate R&D outcomes into commercially viable offerings.
  • Facilitate technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
  • Stay up to date with scientific, technological, and market trends.
  • Ensure documentation, certification, and audit-readiness of R&D processes.
  • Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards.

  1. New product development cycle time
  2. R&D cost-efficiency and budget adherence
  3. Customer satisfaction and retention metrics
