Android Developer Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to design, develop and maintain high-performance Android applications for a digital freight platform. This involves crafting clean, maintainable, and scalable code using Kotlin (preferred) and Java programming languages.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing Android applications that integrate with RESTful APIs, Firebase, and third-party services.
  • Implementing robust solutions using MVVM architecture, Jetpack components, and other Android best practices.
  • Ensuring seamless integration with UI/UX designers, backend engineers, QA, and product managers to guarantee functional excellence and design coherence.
  • Conducting unit testing, code reviews, and participating in regular code refactoring to ensure the application's stability and efficiency.
  • Maintaining Google Play compliance and contributing to the end-to-end app release lifecycle.
  • Staying up to date with the latest Android trends and continually improving development workflows.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of hands-on experience in Android development.
  • Proficient in Kotlin and Java with a deep understanding of Android SDK and Material Design principles.
  • Experience with MVVM architecture, Jetpack components, LiveData, and ViewModel.
  • Familiarity with Dagger 2 / Hilt for dependency injection and good knowledge of object-oriented design, software architecture, and design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming concepts, including Kotlin Coroutines, WorkManager, and Retrofit for REST API integration.
  • Skilled in Git and CI/CD workflows, with experience working in multi-module Android projects and managing app releases.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, Agile development environment.
