Job Title: Senior API Strategist

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of API strategy, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies, with proven expertise in delivering scalable and secure API solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of API Management solutions using Google Apigee Edge/X.
  • Define API strategy, governance, and best practices for internal and external APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design scalable API solutions.
  • Develop API proxies, shared flows, policies, and integrations using Apigee Edge.
  • Integrate Apigee with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP, IAM, and Analytics tools.
  • Establish and enforce security policies including rate limiting, quotas, API key validation, JWT, and mutual TLS.
  • Design CI/CD pipelines and automation for API lifecycle management.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance, availability, and security issues in the API ecosystem.
  • Mentor developers and guide teams on best practices in API management and integration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Apigee (Edge/X/Hybrid).
  • Expertise in designing RESTful and event-driven APIs.
  • Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
  • Good understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native principles.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes (GKE), and other integration tools.
  • Deep knowledge of OAuth2.0, JWT, API Gateway, and related API security models.
  • Experience with tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, Terraform, or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.
