Scientist - Bioinformatics Data Curation

We are seeking a detail-oriented scientist to conduct searches in public genomic databases and curate bioinformatics data.

  • Conduct thorough research in public genomic databases such as GEO, CellXGene, and HumanCell Atlas.
  • Analyze functional genomics technologies and biological experimental methodologies to match our requirements.
  • Ensure accurate dataset qualification, entry, and validation with utmost attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. graduate degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, single-cell biology, genomics, immunology, biomedical engineering, or related field.

Required skills include:

  • Strong technical focus and knowledge of genomics, molecular biology, and relevant technologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in large-scale transcriptomics data analysis, especially scRNA-seq.
  • Experience identifying outliers for gene expression and splicing from RNA-seq data.
  • Familiarity with genomic databases and browsers, and their annotations.
  • Proficiency in Git operations, coding, and visualization using Python or R.
  • Data wrangling skills using pandas or tidyverse.
  • Linux command-line interface (CLI) operations expertise.
