The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee the Accounts Payable department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and a proven track record of managing teams and resolving vendor disputes.

This full-time position is based out of our Coimbatore, India office and involves managing a team of Accounts Payable associates, Sr. Associates, and Team leaders. The key responsibilities include resolving vendor disputes, streamlining vendor accounts payable processes, and working with internal teams to ensure timely payment to vendors.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in finance and at least 8 years of experience in Accounts Payable, with experience in ERP systems such as SAP being a plus. They will also have experience in handling a team of 25 or more and be flexible to work night shifts and from the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the Accounts Payable department and staff
  • Resolve vendor disputes and streamline vendor accounts payable processes
  • Work with internal teams to ensure timely payment to vendors
  • Manage functions such as maintaining the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting
  • Ensure that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure that the accounts payable and the company's financial obligations are met efficiently
  • Keep track of the company's financial expenditures, maintain a database, and provide reports as and when requested by supervisors
  • Oversee all payment transactions such as ACH, wires, paper checks, and so on
  • Will be in charge of data entry, validation, and processing of various types of invoices such as general overhead, subcontractor, and employee travel reimbursements
  • Keeps track of the status of all transactions taking place within the company and external vendors and contractors
  • Standardize procedures to generate efficiency in-house and create internal templates to be used by the company
  • Be active on the customer service front and be quick and accurate with communication
  • Get Trained and Certified on a Process or multiple processes in a specified timeframe
  • Deliver tasks as per Service Level requirements specified by the Business Unit/Center/Stakeholder
  • Upskill process knowledge from time to time
  • Able to work in a team – understand role in the team – help accomplish team goals and objectives – meet and exceed stakeholder objectives/goals
