International Trade and Diplomacy Expert

The role of an International Trade and Diplomacy Expert is to provide strategic leadership in shaping global policy, fostering partnerships, and enhancing trade and investment opportunities for India.

This position operates in a highly dynamic environment, requiring proactive engagement with governments, multilateral organizations, and global industry associations to influence international trade and economic policy.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement the organisation's international strategy to enhance India's global economic influence.
  • Build and sustain relationships with foreign governments, multilateral organizations, and global chambers to advance trade and investment opportunities.
  • Drive programs for market access, investment facilitation, and international business cooperation to deliver tangible outcomes for Indian industry.
  • Ensure global engagements reinforce India's domestic economic and policy objectives to align with national priorities.
  • Develop revenue streams through collaborations, sponsorships, and projects to ensure financial sustainability of international initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills

Master's degree in international relations, public policy, economics, business administration, or related field. PhD or equivalent international policy exposure preferred.

A total of 25-30 years of progressive leadership experience in trade, diplomacy, global economic policy, or senior roles in government/industry bodies with extensive international exposure.

  • Broad knowledge of global economic issues.
  • Generic/Managerial Skills:
  • Visionary leadership with deep knowledge of international trade and diplomacy.
  • Strong diplomatic, negotiation, influencing, and consensus-building skills.
  • Wide international network across governments, industry associations, and multilateral institutions.
  • Excellent public speaking and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • High credibility, gravitas, and ability to influence global economic policy.
